OpenZinca.
OpenZinca is Zinca's public-interest platform for rare disease and long-term health communities. It turns lived experience, evidence-based knowledge, and practical digital tools into resources that patients, families, clinicians, researchers, and community partners can use more easily.
The platform begins with Wilson disease, but its purpose is broader: to make trustworthy health information and practical support easier to reach for small, underserved patient communities.
Two starting points for Wilson disease families.
Two public resources today: a Telegram-based question support bot, and LivingWithWilson.org, an open patient-education website for people living with Wilson disease and the families who support them.
@livingwithwilson_bot
A conversational assistant for the Wilson disease community, answering questions in plain language. Ask in English, French, or any language you are comfortable with — the bot replies in the same language and cites the literature it draws from.
For patients, families, and caregivers searching for answers between clinic visits. Up to 10 questions per person per day.
You will need the Telegram app installed. Share this QR with anyone in the Wilson disease community who would benefit.
Important · The assistant provides patient education for reference only. It does not provide medical advice and cannot replace your physician. Decisions about diagnosis, medication, dose adjustment, stopping or switching treatment for Wilson disease must be made by your treating physician based on your specific clinical situation. If you are experiencing an urgent symptom, please contact your specialist or go to the emergency room.
livingwithwilson.org
The first OpenZinca project. A free, ad-free education library for people living with Wilson disease, their families, and the clinicians who care for them. Evidence-based, translated into multiple languages.
Covers the daily questions that mainstream medicine often does not have time for — diet, monitoring, side effects, family planning, mental health, and what to ask at the next appointment.
All content is free. No subscription. No advertising. No tracking pixels. New articles and translations are published on a rolling basis.
Editorial standard · Content is reviewed for evidence quality before publication. Where the literature is limited or contested, this is stated openly. The library is an educational resource and is not a substitute for the relationship between you and your treating physician.
